Session 4

[Things written within these brackets denote OOC (out of character) conversation.] We begin at the festival. It is around noon at this time. The aforementioned Lord’s begin to arrive. [A: opps I got them backwards, I was gonna say, that’s a pretty stout wife. *all laugh*] Two elves approach Calliope and Cass, Calliope greets the two elves formally, and then they greet Cass as well. After this brief meeting, Cass makes his way over to Miztli and Sunny approaches Daeynore. Sunny asks Daeynore why he has come to the festival, and he slowly explains that he is the Lord of Nature so he must attend all things related to Nature. Sunny propositions Daeynore for some funds explaining that his group, (the collective) protect nature from blights across the land. He agrees and believes he donates 5 electrum pieces when, in reality, he gives Sunny five acorns. Sunny accepts the acorns graciously and then returns to Velour. Meanwhile Arty approaches Sabriel. They share some small talk and Arty requests some funding from Sabriel. Sabriel promises some funding AND says that he will send Calliope with us as well. (Callipoe does not want to go with us). As Cass approaches Miztli, he takes the Lord off guard by not only knowing him but also praising his accomplishments. Miztli, however, is not one for flattery and tells him to can it and shoot straight. They begin to discuss some of the things Cass has created that Miztli can see so far. The two bond over being on the “fringes” of modern science as it were. They bond over being nerds. And Miztli offers Cass a mentorship as well as a direct calling card. Miztli essentially says he will only provide funding if Cass keeps in touch and tells him about the group and his personal discoveries. They two are huge nerds. They continue to nerd out for some time. While Cass continues to be a nerd, Arty goes to speak with Nerium. He tells her about the conversation he has with Sabriel. After he finishes being a nerd Cass goes to speak with Daeynore, who interprets him to be a very hairy dwarf. Daeynore is not convinced that Cass is actually a cat. Daeynore is racist. Cass pretends that there is a large racial issue in need of cleansing up north and that is what the group is going to do. Despite the deep racism, he is not buying Cass’ story. Cass presses harder, leaning into his racist tendencies. Arty approaches. Cass does secure some actual money and the kisses ass *hard*. After all this discussion, Cass decides to approach Callipoe. Cass has some nice conversation with Calliope for some time and then challenges her to a ring toss competition! Cass wins the ring toss! More flirting ensues. Cass gives sunny a token for Facepainting. And then goes to the axe throwing with Calliope. Meanwhile, Arty tests his strength! The festival’s dinner begins! As everyone eats and shares this wonderful day together the light begins to strike the tree just right bathing the whole area in the special light that the festival is named after. After the festival is over Cass purchases an extra cask for the upcoming trip and then the group (Arty, Cass, and Sunny) go to look for a cart to take back to the city. Sunny finds Johnny waiting with the other carriages and they party hops inside and take the carriage back.

[DM: Ah don’t worry about that *mysteriously rolls one dice*] The party rides along in the carriage. Cass begins asking Rehema about any knowledge she may have about weapons with consciousness and their various kinds. They proceed at length with their nerd talk. Sunny and Johnny have good conversation. Also saying out loud that Arty is just embarrassed because he is sitting next to Belladonna. [DM: you know you don’t *have* to get with her (speaking to A) S: YES YOU DO. YOU HAVE TO DATE THE FIRST WOMAN YOU MEET IT’S THE RULES. All: intense laughter] As the party rides along chit chatting, not one but TWO bearded devils crawl out from underneath the carriage and snatch the two girls out of the back. Along with several cultists and some smaller minions appearing in front of us to halt the carriage. [During combat: DM: Belladonna uses her druid form to transform into a wolf. A: “when I see Belladonna change into a wolf I’m impressed” S: “Furry!” *pointing at A* A: “I DIDNT SAY I LOOKED AT HER BUTTHOLE.” All: *momentary silence before intense laughter*] After a long, incredibly bloody, and dangerous battle. We do finally win!
